A sudden storm dumped four inches of snow on the sixteenth: a typical trick of March’s.




Clothed in red and white, the Maple seemed better suited to Saint Valentine’s Day than to Saint Patrick’s, when these pictures were taken.







So Winter comes full circle, and the Vernal Equinox approaches a scene that looks a lot like January did.
Still, the Lake is not frozen, and the slowly warming earth will not long support this latest mantling of white. For what it’s worth, a warming trend is predicted for the coming week. That’s predicted, not guaranteed. March will have its way with us, but Spring can only arrive in hope.
So here’s to Spring, and here’s hoping.
