Birds marked with an asterisk were reported by other observers. The remainder of the list represents (at the end of 2007) about a year’s worth of my sightings, and the full list currently stands at 165 species. Personal matters prevented me from doing much birding during the fall of ’07, and while several good birds were added lately, I expect there are more yet to come. I had to close the comments due to spam, but I’m still accepting email submissions.

Original post:
Most of these species were seen in a few visits made in the winter and summer of 2007. The birds marked with an asterisk were observed by other birders presumed to be trustworthy, mostly during the summer of ’07 as adjuncts to Reef-Heron observations. Relatively little data has been collected during the better part of spring and fall migration, so many species may be expected to be added. Additions may be submitted via the comments block, which I will edit (no anonymous submissions please) or by emailing me at

The goal is to compile a thorough checklist for the site, as a matter of basic curiosity, and for possible use in advocacy for protecting wildlife habitat in the face of the park’s upcoming renovation.
