We got our white Christmas after all.
Not quite idyllic, either. A cold wet mess drenched most of the day, only giving way to snow at evening. The next morning was beautiful, but icing and the heavy, wet snow caused a lot of damage, breaking branches and uprooting trees, while the Meadow was flattened.
Seems like we’ve had more Winter than all of last year, but the snow is already retreating. It was an El Nino driven storm, coming from the south; a trend which may continue to bring us precipitation, but not long term cold temperatures. In the meantime, snow on Christmas is to be considered a gift.
As in “be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it”.
