I saw the new Richard Sera installation at Gagosian Gallery yesterday. This probably sounds like hyperbole, but it is the greatest thing I have ever seen. I'd love to check it out again if anyone wants to go.
Here's the Gagosian Gallery site. Annoying use of flash makes it impossible for me to link directly to the Sera page, but if you click on Artists / Exhibitions and then Current you can then select Serra. Up through October 25th. 555 West 24th Street.
Yeah, Serra is often a great artist, and he hasn’t burned out the way a lot of his contemporaries have. I should dig out those photos I have from when they eliminated the Tilted Arc at the federal building and scan them.
What we really need to do is organize that field trip to the new dia…
and while we're organizing field trips, i've been wanting to go to storm king. any interest this fall? there is a serra there but i'd really like to walk along goldsworthy's wall.
great is not an opinion its a matter of fact. lets set aside a weekend and head up the hudson for a dia/sk visit. or maybe take the highway instead.
october is good for me. anytime after that and bill might end up delivering baby. depending on who wants to go, do we need it to be a weekend?
Closing bold tag.
I’m not tied to weekends. We might want to consider the fall foliage, which should be at its best in the second half of October.
I would like to go but not Oct 23 weekend.
a bad weekend for me is oct 18th. other than that i am open most days during the month.
