No Detroit connection; I didn’t even realize he was in Destroy All Monsters. They were the preceding generation of Detroit punk/new wave bands; he left for LA about the same time I left for school in NY while some friends remaining in Detroit started the Algebra Mothers. When I was back in Detroit 80-84 DAM was a semi-legendary name around town, but I never saw them.
