Duct tape was the great impromptu symbol at yesterday’s protest. Many took the opportunity to stick it to Bush. There were signs showing him with tape over his mouth, and “duct you” was a popular epithet. It is great stuff, and now it takes the place of a fallout shelter, with all the nonsense that idea implied in the good old days of the Cold War. As a paranoia prop it’s so ridiculous that just sticking pieces on your clothing was enough to read as a gesture of ridicule towards the warmongers.
