if only i could pin this on skull and bones
"I think the recent total frenzy of Judiana—the Talmudic, blogospheric analysis of the entire spectrum of speculation, rumor, conjecture in the Plame case and its Judy Miller subplot that has consumed so many of us—may mark the moment when the way we process information has changed in some deeper fundamental way that transcends this particular media colonoscopy, transcends media consciousness and suggests some deep internal realignment of the prefrontal lobes."

sartorial witlessness
dear national review - ive noticed lately that the homeless people outside my window dress better than me. should i be concerned......................that theyre too well cared for or is it encumbent upon me to inquire as to their preferred haberdasher?
hens in the foxhouse
juan cole suggests that the media climate in the post 911 world "forced" the new york times to give miller more lattitude in her coverage. basically, the papers leadership got sand kicked in their face by fox, and after they were done crying, they ran home and ordered the charles atlas booklet from the back of a comicbook so they could stand up to o' reilly next time he tried to steal their lunch money. please, they should have done what every other sane liberal does, not even bother to listen to those assholes. but if this is about market share, as he cole contends, then all hope is already lost for them.
knickerbocker press
lots of chatter over a brent scowcroft related piece in the new yorker yesterday but i see today that they havent put it up for our delectation. if im not mistaken, the new yorker was predominantly liberally hawkish in the run up to war. in fact, i believe the guy who wrote the scowcroft piece was one of its biggest cheerleaders. so, thanks for nothing, then and now, unless you find this q&a with the author satisfactory.
