William Gibson has had the camera/cellphone ah-ha moment. These things really will be a big deal.
Yeah, I tend to agree with you, and W Gibson, that its not just another gadget. I resisted phones in general and cell phones in particular, pretty successfully for almost three years, but when it came time to finally get a phone the cell phone was simply the most practical, and for my needs, the most affordable. I don't generally carry it with me but it is nice to have that option, especially when travelling. Gibson's description of the shoot and send simplicity is a good commercial for the camera phone. Plus I use it now religiously as an alarm clock, not to mention it being my sole internet provider. I am probably more likely to upgrade my phone plan--from 35 a month to 45 a month--to get photo capability than I am to spend 50--100 per month to get just high speed cable internet. But I'd have to upgrade my phone too. Upgrade, upgrade, upgrade.
