Anti-war march thread. I'll post in the comments here if I can get a signal on my mobile. Others should feel free to do the same.

Beautiful day. We're at the rendez-vous now in the west village. Drat fink's here and tom moody. Waiting for a few more, and then we'll move up to midtown.

We're marching today in Portland.

We're in the west village. Crew is assembled. Heading north.

We're here @ 33 & b'way. Lots of people. Much more of a march then last time. We're watching for a good spot and then we'll jump in.

Looks like it actually is a lot of people. Hannah and andrew are above us and skinny's sister is on 16th street. Solid all the way, with more still to join.

We're moving. Hooked up with the rivington st posse. Very little police presence. Surprisingly little.

Now things are getting a bit tighter. Pockets of pro war people. We're funneling together at madison park, just across and above the flatiron. Can see lots of helicopters hovering ahead. I guess over union square and washington square.

Yep, now we're stuck. We're not going to fit.

Just got a call from times square where it is still packed. This is very large, peaceful seeming, but very energetic crowd. Much more optimism then I had thougt.

Moving better now. 21 & b'way.

Down below union square now. That park always reminds me pf the 9/11 memorial now.

Still good spacing in te crowd.

I think over half the people here have recording devices. Mostly cameras and dv cameras. Lots of professional equipment (well prosumer, or whatever.) not much major media that i've seen.

When better camera phones and better wireless hit things like this are going to be micro covered in real time from almost as many viewpoints as participants.

First big police presence at waverly and b'way as they turn the crowd west toward wash sq park.

That's it. We bailed. Took the subway down and now we're all at fuleen 11 division street.

First time. Supposedly this is daniel bouloud's choice for fresh fish in chinatown.

It's tsingtao time.
