How do I not notice these things? Nested comments were not ordering correctly in the comment threads. Should be fixed now.
I dislike this nested style more and more. I'm not going to remove the option, but I'm thinking of switching my page to flat comments (one sequence of comments, ordered by time posted - no indenting.) I really think that is the better way. If you need to reply to a comment some way up the page, just quote part of that comment in your reply.
Any feelings on this?
Flat comments are working for me. I like being able to see the whole thread.
I changed my page to flat comments. If I'm remembering how I coded it correctly, the nesting information is preserved, so if I switched back to that style all the indenting would be restored correctly.
I think flat's ok, maybe better.

thought you would want to know -- the M&M filed for bankruptcy. I heard the distressing news in my bankruptcy class -- and after filing for bankruptcy - a trustee in butte was called to go shut down the place - and he was nervous that his life in butte woulod be ruined. It probably is. he went to the M&M to shut er down and sat at the bar and started drinking, waiting for a lull in the clientele. there was no complete lull - so he had to give the news and clear the place out. customers were grabbing things on their way out - whatever was within reach. first time it has closed in 100 years I heard.
at this minute I couldn't seem to locate your email so I am here. but I like it here
ps. lawrence lessig lectured here last week. what a cowboy!!
flat good.
Nesting comments was one of my favorite features of the tree; so personal, so sensitive; why it almost seemed poetic at times, but alas, typological parity is the look of the future: if it looks right
it must be right & if it looks wrong it must be wrong...Obviously the eyeball will overpower cognition
& we won't have to worry about pesky things like sentences or complete thoughts in the future when everything is the perfectly lined up for the firing squad.
Diana, this is very sad news about the M&M.
(My email is linked on my page.)
Oh yeah, also, Diana, what about Lessig? What did he talk about? He's great, isn't he?
i like nested too although complete thoughts and punctuation are tiresome.
Hey, you punned it ! I say we start flattening Tyre.
nesting good, eggs good.
I hate everything this site stands for...
I'm sorry if I've ruffled your feathers. I think the flat comments are good and easy. I see Frank's and Dave's points though now that they've made them.
I'm perched on both sides of the fence.
Ignore me.
LOL. Just kidding. I always think of that one anonymous comment I once got whenever there are too many jokes in a thread.
Yeah, but what about all the great things this site sits on.... Sarah ?
Oh yeah, I thought it had a familliar ring.
Nice os !
that "hate everything this site stands for" comment was part of our stimulating dinner conversation last night. not as interesting as puddied sheets of plywood or bloodied lintils but then what is. thank god for the star of david and the digital desserts at rice to riches. next time, well have to eat some, rice pudding, that is. lintils get stuck between my teeth.
Something about the M&M and the looting starting before the museums grand opening.
Huh?
yez eat yet? twirly.
