If you don't need a qwerty keyboard on your phone (and I'm ready to admit that perhaps not everybody does,) I think it would be difficult to do better than the Sony Ericsson T616.
john s bought the p800 yesterday. i played with it a bit today. nice to have the keypad although i guess if you are adept at the handwriting recognition from pdas its not too bad.
I can't wait to check it out in person. That is one fine device. Not even in the same galaxy as the T616, but of course you've got to pay to play. Hopefully I'll get a chance to use John's and can report back here.
Mere mortals should still consider the T616.
