You can now click on pictures in my photolog and read or leave comments. I'd be interested if people have ideas about how they think such a page should work.

how about time, date and gps

Time and date (of the upload, not necessarily of the picture itself, although in my case these would be very close) are in the database, although not displayed on the page. But you can see them if you click through to the comments (they are under the repeat of the main page post at the top of the comment page.)

If GPS info were encoded into the picture file by the camera (a few cameras do this) then I could extract it. But since none of us has such cameras I haven't bothered to work it out yet.

well I did post a comment on one of the images and jim responded, but getting back there to rejoin the discussion was kind of byzantine. First I had to remember to go back, as there's no way for an 'unread comment' alert to get to me, then I had to scroll back through the posts and find the same image again, which was no problem in this instance, but wouldn't necessarily be an easy task. So I dunno how practical the feature it is for a discussion. HOWEVER, in a more abstract way, I like the idea of secrets behind the pictures...if I click on an image I like , maybe I will find more information, someone's opinion or a background story. and maybe not. It's a bit like a game, and could be fun if enough people played.
