Apparently Nokia is adding Python support to series 60 mobile phones. Being able to script a mobile phone is one of my dreams (yeah, I know, but you take what you can get.) It's something I didn't expect any of these companies to make possible. Is this really going to be open to everybody, or will you have to be some sort of registered developer?
Yet another reason to learn Python.
Too bad it's not Ruby :(

Always on the cutting edge...
Do you really use that?
A Quick (and Hopefully Painless) Ride Through Ruby (with Cartoon Foxes)....
Genius!
Here's the first report I've seen on the beta Python on Series 60 program. Still a little short on details. Like, which phone functions are accessible and which are not? I have to assume that you don't get total control of the phone...
My guess is that the industry is *wildly* underestimating the impact of this move. Open it up and there will be an avalanche of desire. Seriously, the effects will be unprecedented. It's just unclear how much they have actually opened it up.
