From Joi:You can now query Technorati for advanced search terms such as tsunami AND ("red cross" OR "red crescent") and it will give you all of the blog posts in order by how long ago they were posted that include the word "tsunami" and either "red cross" or "red crescent". You can then click "Make this a Watchlist" and create an RSS feed so you can track all new posts that match that query in your news reader. That part about the custom RSS feeds blows my mind. Again: simple, clever.
Speaking of technorati, can or should we have the option of notifying them when we post, like we did with weblogs.com at one time? I remember at one point you were saying that might be a viable substitute.
Yes. I'm being lazy again. But I took a little peak yesterday and it's pretty straight forward. So this should be working soon. I think they crawl us already though, so pinging them will just make them crawl us a little more rapidly.
There's a service called pingomatic that notifies several update services with one click. Don't know how difficult it is to set up. I agree as a practical matter most of the bots are finding us anyway.
Thanks. Pingomatic looks cool. I'll see if I can get it working.
