if youve never been the number one fink on the internet, you wouldnt understand.
remember when people used to get all riled up about the "bad" information on the internet? It wasn't that long ago when anything written online was suspect. The information hasn't really changed, but people are much more willing to dive in to a world of opinion. Wikipedia is sort of subtley mind-blowing in this respect. My friend and I made some colloquial changes to an obscure post about the teleharmonium and they were copy-edited quite promptly, the informational bits kept and the style professionalised. Aaaah, self-regulation. Perhaps the human beast is at base neither good, nor evil, but careful and polite.
