These insects are called Assassin Bugs, and for good reason. If you piss them off, they can exude two chemicals from their posterior end that, when they mix, can bring excruciating pain to your eyes and, if you're another bug, death. The red one is a juvenile and my Nature Campers named one like this Tomato Butt.
