And yeah, I misread, so one cop, big deal, huh? Two years of investigation to get one cop, that sounds about like my progress on this job out here, and this guy's kidding right-- U.S. Attorney Jim Letten complimented the agencies (the FBI's Gang Task Force and the NOPD Public Integrity Bureau) for "working together in a seamless partnership to cripple and ultimately eradicate the illegal drug trade in New Orleans."
Cop corruption was upstaged this morning anyhow. Letten should spend more time in fiscal offices. Seems the investigators doing that in the NO Public Schools located $20 million in payroll, paid out in payroll checks, to employees of NO Public Schools who are no longer employees at NO Public Schools. There's a little down time between getting fired, leaving your job, or retiring, it was reported, and actually having your name dropped from payroll and health benefits. I'm already reading the fine print on my contract--McDonough 35, here I come.
