I have so far succeeded in keeping my cats off this blog, but recent sad events have broken the seal. Cat sculptures such as this will no longer bless my home. These impressive litter-box newsprint towers were a truly collaborative effort and now that one cat, Grog, has passed on out of this life, the cat art scene in my kitchen is on hiatus. Surviving Beulah may find a way to produce her art without the pee-soaked paper as a medium, although like most cats she really is more of writer.
Cats are the best sculptors. And prolific too.
yup. the pictures don't really do these ones justice, as the olfactory component was pretty important to the overall effect. But you get the idea.
My condolences for Grog. Sorry to hear that.
thanks! it was nice, really. She died peacefully at home in her sleep the evening before her "appointment with death" at the vet.
A merchant in Baghdad sent his cat to the market.
The cat returned, trembling and frightened. The
cat told the merchant, "I was jostled in the market,
turned around, and saw Death.
"Death made a threatening gesture, and I fled in terror.
May I please borrow your horse? I can leave Baghdad
and ride to Samarra, where Death will not find me."
The master lent his horse to the cat, who rode away,
to Samarra.
Later the merchant went to the market, and saw Death in
the crowd. "Why did you threaten my cat?" He asked.
Death replied,"I did not threaten your cat. It was
merely that I was surprised to see him here in Baghdad,
for I have an appointment with him tonight in Samarra."
...er ...that was me, not Grog. Sorry Sal.
Now I have to go kiss and cuddle my cat, and he totally hates it.
help name the kitty
What's wrong with that person? "Mr. Mechanic" is purr-fect.
LM, cats have to put up with some squeezing. It's part of the contract.
There's a contract? I never signed anything. They probably have a good lawyer anyway. Maybe that's why I can't get them to go to the market for me.
Sorry to hear about Grog- it's always sad, even when it's expected.
Sorry for your loss.
