Hey, I think Kitty just had an idea for a unified Theory of Everything! Seriously, I love your animated gifs, Sally.
thanks Tino. I've been experimenting with stop action video and hand drawn animation. Having trouble getting enough light in the studio to make it work properly. Anyhow, will post some quicktime soon, or translate more to gif.
Nice work! Oh, I just noticed the flash of text, very subliminal. From my limited experience with stop motion animation and lighting I have two words, clamp lights, clamp lights and more clamp lights. errrr o.k. maybe more than two words. Well i aint no Walt Disney.
yeah! I am going on a clamp light hunt at Active Surplus tomorrow. I bought a flood light bulb today. It helped, but not much. Of course now I am starting to dig the dirtiness of these little films...is it laziness or an aesthetic choice?
Ha Sally, that is a question i always struggle with! Of course i hope iam leaning towards an aesthetic choice most of the time. Actually had to reshoot my latest film the other day. The lighting was off, with poor Mr. Nobody all washed out. It was very tempting to leave it as is. When you are dealing with a crappy aesthetic its easy to justify leaving mistakes in. But of course it has to be crappy in just the right way, so I reshot it. Good thing my films are usually 30 seconds long! Keep up the good work!
oof! what a drag. I had to reshoot a little video of SNO lab and neutrinos. the problem is that I am drawing and erasing as I go, so I had re-draw it, and of course my drawing sucked the second time around. blah. Maybe third time lucky! I know just what you mean about that carefully gauged crappy look. I don't mind if people can tell it's home made and dorky, but that doesn't mean any old thing will fly. By the way I bought two more clamp lamps and the studio lighting situation is way way better now.
