According to many news sources, Joseph Cardinal C, is considered a front runner in the upcoming papal elections. As you know, customary humility does not allow Cardinals to express any desire for this office or to openly promote their papal ambitions. Fortunately this particular Cardinal has a fan site: www.ratzingerfanclub.com and I think his web advocate does well in describing many of the reasons for his appeal.

Please note that the site does clarify the distinction between being a member of the Hitler Youth and actually joining the Nazi party.

i like the term Co-workers of the Truth on that site. what a great metaphor. it's like, the Pope is the CEO, and we're all Team Players, taking out some RRSP's in our Afterlife. (bwhaha) I'm thinking that tragic earth catastrophes are just all part of an effort to reduce the organizations Total Cost of Ownership. ok cheese aside, You know, God was the first to remotely administer work related duties, and even made a FAQ. that alone makes me want to Adore.

Oh yeah, Ratzinger. He was the guy who signed the papal document declaring that all other world religions were "inherently wrong" a few years ago.

Kathy Shaidle made the exquisite comment that his name alone qualified him as a perfect James Bond movie antagonist. Regrettably, she's a freak. She had some valid insights into Catholicism, but warped out into a blind veneration of the genius of George W. Bush, which self-evidently defies comprehension.

While researching Arinze, I stumbled upon the anti-papist conspiracy world site that I won't link to because ...yikes (but not for the anti-papal part), anyway I quote this observation from Texe Marrs (it's his site) (there is a shopping section too):

"While recently visiting Dallas, Texas, Arinze was asked by Christian talk show host Robert Ashley, “Could people of other faiths such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, and Islam get to heaven without accepting Jesus?” Arinze laughed and replied, “Expressly, yes.”
“Every religion has elements that are true and noble and good,” Arinze suggested.

Of course, the Devil would agree with such a teaching, would he not? Therefore, could it not be that this ecumenical, broadminded man from Africa is Satan’s choice to someday lead the billion-strong Catholic faithful into the uncharted waters of a New Age under the tutelage of the Illuminati elite?"

(Texe, who I suspect is a Protestant, is obviously a major fan of revelations, from that book that I previously mentioned, ...that we catholics never read) (and could the difference between Ratzinger and Marrs simply be one of semantics and sophistication?)
