My high school newspaper had a poem by Peter Sharpe that began:
'I've seen the death of a thousand toads.
They're squashed and gored all over the roads.'
A wonderful cadence I thought
In the part of southwestern ontario we inhabited, there really were toads by the thousands, very small ones, desparately venturing the roads, like the scenes of the little baby turtles dashing for the sea, being eaten by evil seagulls that always made my mother weep.
It might could have been Bruce, his younger brother
I am unable to say with any certainty that no animals were harmed in the making of that video. But technically, Lyla Rye was driving the car, so she'd probably be the one going to hell.
That's how I look at it anyway.
Love this show!
