Good find. I like the "muscles on muscles" style coupled with the visionary weirdness.
I couldn't resist.
I wonder how much "Archangel Michael" would cost.
Reminds me of my days of drawing Conan. I never wanted muscles, but man I loved drawing them.
There was a guy in high school whose drawings "beat" mine because he put way more muscles on his characters.
Note T's excellent Hulk vs Thing battle.
These take me back to my days of lusting after The Mighty Thor. Joester and his friends drew lots of superheros, but I only ever tried to draw Thor. I liked the six dots on his outfit, they were fun to do in perspective.
Isn't it so cool when kids who can draw take commissions from other kids? An ex of mine once asked his classmate to draw "a breast riding a horse." He said it turned out really good, but sadly he hadn't kept the picture.
Oh fuck that's hilarious.
I did a fair amount of commission work--no breasts riding horses, though.
I just noticed a big showoffy 3-D animated GIF of Thor that used the Kirby "six dots" costume. Those dots are very powerful--and very '60s--hey, six "O"s.
ahah. You might be onto something.
you just say the word sal and we could have a 24hr drawing competition - Breasts riding horses. Best drawing wins a ... I dunno, respect or something. Or a "Sally" award.
(hey Tom, my horses have muscles)
I just finished my Berkeley duties in full with the completion of my intro art class. One student did a piece where they painted over a painting they found at a thrift store. They completely covered the painting with a URL where they had a put a jpg of the original online. I was soooo proud.
the biblical motifs remind me of henry darger like, james hampton.

I also "salute the management of the Greenwich Hannaford's."
Colour sense - brilliant.
