Eventually Easter ends, and it always ends badly.

Sally should be getting another nasty email from Richard Dawkins soon, and then I'll go back to posting science limericks.

Hey that looks like one of the devil dudes from Cabin in the Sky, which we watched on Saturday night in London. The bad guys have their hair twisted up into little horns, and they argue with the good guys for the soul of little Joe, over his deathbed.

Now were are home again suffering a sugar hangover from family easter candy blow-out. You are right L.M., it always ends badly. But thanks for all these great posts, making this, truly THE BEST EASTER EVER.

I read that the actual ex-voto form we're familiar with started in 15th century Italy. The Mexican custom of painting them on tin began in the 19th century.

In the examples on the post the second image is German. The third image is from Quebec "A drowning at Lévis", 1754. The next two are French and the rest are from Mexico or in the Mexican style.

I used to have an Italian one. (gave it away as a gift.)

Here's a nice one from a UFOMystic post on Mexican abduction art:

This stuff makes me love painting again.
