Work like this is so hard to pin down because none of the sci-fi fantasy references or Victorianisms are verbatim. And so many people want instant correspondences, not that mysterious something-else that comes from somewhere-else and not-sure-when.

i didnt get teh science references, yr not stupid, we just pick up different things.
