Wasp (9 views, Nova Scotia) 2002 crocheted poly-twine, 6'
Net (backshore, Nova Scotia) 2001 crocheted stainless steel wire and glass, 10' x 12'.
Net (backshore, Nova Scotia) 2001 crocheted stainless steel wire and glass, 10' x 12'.
Doily (9 views, Florida) 2003 crocheted nylon-coated copper wire, 33" diameter.
I've seen the Doily, Net and Wasp at Edward Day Gallery over the past few years, but I don't remember seeing these images. It may be that the jpeg's have been scanned from slides, but whatever it is, I love the colour quality of these pictures, they look Google Earth elevations rendered in 70's film stock.
I love these. Crochet and metal. Lovely. The Doily looks like a marine creature I ought to be able to recognize, tip of the tongue for a taxonomist.
Echinoderm (Sand dollar). Right?
sorta a cross between a sand dollar, a sea urchin and a basket star I think.
