These guys are really pretty funny. We continued watching parts 2-5 of 5 from that documentary about the money burning. It's interesting to compare the project to the various art student stunts that have made big scandal news. This is more successful, I think, partly because KLF were coming at it from outside the artworld. The interviews with the gallerist are hilarious. The doc. shows the KLF dudes trying to work through what they've done. They seem confused, but sincerely so. And that often happens with art - you find yourself wondering, "why on earth did I make that?" and not regretting it, but puzzling over it. - sally mckay 8-18-2008 12:15 am
Also, there's something a bit Survival Research Lab about their aesthetic ...just because they're deadpan that doesn't mean they're joking.
