In the Mrs Brown piece it looks like he has been put in a straight jacket and told not to move more than a centimetre in any direction.

He is precious and repellent at the same time. (I do a good impersonation of him singing that song) - L.M. 2-02-2009 3:16 am

(and I am also perplexed by the lyrics of No Milk Today) - L.M. 2-02-2009 5:23 pm
No Milk today goes wonderfully out of sync by the end.

'no milk today' everyone had the milk delivered early in the morning, usually a standard order for each household. It was too early to give an oral order, so notes were left. When people were away they left a note saying 'no milk today' It was a standard, like 'do not disturb' in hotels. I can't remember for sure, but I think they were preprinted. The forlorn bottle is the empty from yesterday.
'terraced house' row house, or in Canadian, townhouse
'two up two down' standard working class house, living room and front room downstairs, two bedrooms upstairs.
does that help? - galenagalaxian 2-04-2009 2:26 am
For years and years I had thought that Charles Aznavour wrote 'Jezebel'. I was wrong. Maybe he helped translate the words to French?
I first heard that song on an old Aznavour album. He did a pretty intense version.
