this is neat
LM, When you write "(found)" do actually mean you "found" this stuff? How do you do that? Do you type in something in google? I don't get how you keep finding stuff.... just curious. C
Yes it is found and most of the of time I edit & distort it, I just don't want to take credit in the same way I would with my own video footage that I turn into gifs. It may be an overly fine distinction to make since the act of Hunting and Cooking (to steal a brilliant metaphor) is a part of my work. (and a lot of the animations have already been sourced by 2nd and 3rd parties from some unknown 4th or 5th parties)
I actively look for them, and that makes all the difference. So my sources vary: Google, liveJournal, the chans (whichever one isn't too full of porn), YTMND, gifTube, b3ta, Googling in foreign languages.
I recently lost my whole hard drive with all my gif making sources and digitized video, so I am slowly rebuilding all my raw materials. The high amounts of found stuff lately is a result of this (I had my found gif library collection backed up because I showed it to my students, but it never occurred to me to back up a bunch of my own works in progress simply because I have the footage on mini DV's)
