From a review of Sadko Hadzihasanovic and Mélanie Rocan by Gary Dault in the Globe and Mail (scroll down):
Here are two important exhibitions by two profoundly gifted and technically skilled painters. Hadzihasanovic's exhibition is titled 50 Paintings for my 50th Birthday. And that's what it is. But the paintings, which appear to be casually tossed off but aren't, are not formal ruminations upon the artist's life so far (he came to this country in 1993 from Sarajevo). Rather, they are vivid, funny, touching, troubling, anecdotal works of the life of the boy and the man in war and peace. They are paintings of an international masculinization, captured on the fly with such virtuoso rapidity that they seem like flashes of memory.
