Video: Tsuxiit by Nicholas Thorburn
I was snooping around the other day looking for artworks about whales and I came across this video by Nicholas Thorburn who is a musician with The Islands. It's footage of Tsux'iit, otherwise known as Luna, that Thorburn shot with his father, accompanied by music from Thorburn's band. It's some of the prettiest online video I've seen, making great use of crunchy glittery digital compression. Thorburn writes a pretty good story about Tsux'iit/Luna, although I also suggest click here for a more nuanced view on the relationship between the Mowachaht / Muchalaht First Nations people and the whale.
