We've been unforgivably tardy in not immediately linking to Artfag's most current and most graceful prose.
OMG I've been delinquent. L.M. has been valiant keeping the posts up here. Me and VB have been travelling all over the freakin place but now we are home and I should be making reports. But of course instead I've been catching up on all the admin that's been piling up while I was away. Quick notes for today:
Amsterdam is the most beautiful city I've ever seen and riding a bike there was a lifelong dream and it's a good as I thought it would be.
I've never been very interested in going to the big international art shows but this year, due to having family in Germany, it seemed like a good idea to check out Documenta and the Munster Sculpture Project. Also I've never been to Germany before. Documenta was way way more interesting than I could have predicted, and a lot of it had to do with being in Kassel. The global politics of the exhibition were contextualized by Germany's history, and in particular this town that was so badly bombed and rebuilt.
I'm going to write more on this soon.
God Bless Australia (or just John Clarke & Bryan Dawe)
