anybody eaten here?
Two years ago, Wyanoka was a members-only joint accessible by electronic passkey. I went once with a member. The whole thing was built on exclusivity--you walked past all the schmoes in line for Double Happiness, carded your way in--most of them had no idea where you were going. Once inside, there was a one-way video surveillance setup, which allowed the people in Wyanoka to watch the bar crowd in DH on a big monitor (but not vice versa). Lots of martini-drinking; not much eating going on; many white nostrils coming out of the bathroom. It was an art world hangout for the 2 minutes the art world was back on top. Maybe it changed ownership; I have no current information.
