theres a jewish deli over on grand st near clinton with the unappetizing name of Noahs Ark. (hey, lets eat two of everything!) i checked out their website and found this sample bris catering menu, the idea of which i thought was humorous. i just hope that their luncheon meats are thinly sliced.
i ordered lunch from The Ark today. isnt here yet. reada brief note in the times about it today. im hoping its nearly as good as it costs. the original deli is in teaneck, nj which is a very "jewy" town in bergen county. so that bodes well.
what did you get ?
pastrami and turkey on a garliced roll
noodle kugel
knish
rugellah
Mmmmm ... rugellah.
the rugellah at gertel's on hester is better and mo' authentic. heres an interview with the baker at gertel's. i guess eli's/zabars is still the shit according to nymag.

the pastrami was pretty good but sliced thin as opposed to katzs. im no pastrami/corned beef officionado but id still rate katzs higher. still im happy about the addition. looking forward to some matzoball soup.
