the brownstone diner in jersey city SUCKS! go to hard grove, vips or als but do NOT GO TO THE BROWNSTONE DINER!!!!!!!
tom and i would go once in a while but quit cause it SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
youre not fond of their "cured" ham?
they would need penicillin to cure their ham!
I haven't set foot in it since it reopened. Did you encounter the same lovely service as it had pre-yuppification?
From that message board it sounds like it's still packing them in. Go figure.
i never went back either tom. people want neighborhood places like that in walking distance to work for them. and a few people on the board didnt notice the bad service or discounted it as just busy.
That's not one of the places you took me Bill, is it?
I'm trying to work up on post on the greatest diner in the world: The Cup & Saucer. It's right across the street from me (corner of Eldridge and Canal.) Absolutely amazing. Like stepping into a time warp. I really want to take you there Bill, but it's only open during the day.
Fuller's has been a Portland fave since 1940-something. Home made bread, fried razor clams, hashbrowns...I'm taking y'all next time you're out here.
no jim, we went to als and vips. looking forward to a c&s trip some time. fullers t shirts look cool too.
we'll be in town two weeks from now, breakfast at the cup and saucer?
si!
i think they must favor the french cuisine (languedoc, peut etre?) at c&a because they do this dish with sauteed whipped eggs where they add meat and vegetables right into the...well, i wont ruin the culinary theatre. but, get this. theyll even ask if you want cheese with your omelette (ahhm-let) . inside? on top? who knows? those crazy frenchman!! its all just so continental!!
