skinny recommended Woochon, at 10 W 36th a while back. Still good? any recommendations of Korean restaurants in that vicinity?
Ooh man, the Korean barbeque district. Still recall (I think) hitting someplace up there with Steve & ex Wen-chi and some of her fashion pals after a Butthole show and realizing as I watched the flesh wriggle across the table that I was still too ‘shroomed… had to leave, but really, it’s good stuff… 's'cuse me...
I like them all really inc the big one on 32 near bway......new ones have popped up too.....love it over there, a break from NY:>)
d.d. chapin (and his bike) showed up for that one too.
"The big one on 32 near bway...."
Is that the one with the white piano? Love that one.
kum gang san is the one with the rock wall and the piano.
Thanks, we went to Kum Gang San, it was great. We had the short ribs barbecue and the seafood barbecue and the accompanying, table-filling assortment of vegetable items on little plates and in bowls. Instead of the white piano the musician was playing a traditional zither-like instrument that unfortunately could barely be heard over the waterfall. I think I had been there before but in one of the banquet rooms.
I went to Kum Gang San last night with some work folks. They turned off the waterfall when the piano started... I guess they are learning. We had pretty much the same fare as you, Tom, and all very good.
I was talking to my crazy Korean friend, double-'o'-Soo, and in addition to Kum Gang San, we go to Kang Suh. Similar to Kum Gang San except no Japanese options (which I always found a bit strange..) and for parties of six or more you can have a private room, with a long BBQ grill down the middle of a long table - fun for big groups. She always does the ordering though in Korean, so I am not sure it would be the same if I tried to order. She also recommends:
Cho Dang Gol - a little mellow and better decor but no BBQ at the table
Han Gawi - vegetarian fair. very nice.
Great, thanks for these. Looking forward to my next meal in that neighborhood!
I go to the block a lot, to the "take out" store.....going up stairs to slurp some noodles now
its all about the sides:>)
Thread-closing candidate.
why??
Certain threads all over the Tree are under more or less continuous attack right now from the same industrious spammer. The common denominator is all the threads have URLs posted somewhere in them, so those are obviously being sniffed or whatever.
where do you see this happening, i dont care you all can close whatever you want but i'm just curious
This thread had three of them--I'm guessing Jim deleted them before you saw them. Believe me Skinny, comment spam is real.
This is no slight on Jim of course. Our site is spam free compared to most. It's killing blogs all over the Net.
I am only curious.....Tom how do you see them?? Before Jim deletes?? Just trying to see how things work.....
I've deleted several from this page myself and marked them as spam.
Everyone's been pitching in to get rid of them on the group pages.
thanks!!!!!
