i usually just go for the blueberry banana soy combo and if i have any other fruit lying around itching to go bad ill throw it in. the key is to freeze as much of the fruit as possible. ill search out a few menus or recipes. heres one. they seem to be into coconut.

like dave says, throw too ripe to eat plain bananas into the freezer and use them for smoothies on an as needed basis.

Yup. Frozen bananas (not sure I'll second the "too ripe" though) plus soy plus whatever else you want to throw in. As long as the bananas are frozen the rest doesn't have to be. And it's probably obvious, but peel the bananas before freezing for best results.

perhaps it would have been obvious after the first freeze, but i would have totally thrown bananas, peel and all, into freezer.

thanks. today's was a success. and i still put the banana in the freezer with the peel on, despite the advice, since i didn't believe it wouldn't really come off easily. it didn't. but it cut off easily and i think the peel protects against freezer burn.

I freeze them with the skins on.

Blasphemy.

But yeah, you need a freezer ziploc to prevent freezer burn.
