tea drinkers, what are your favorite morning teas? decaffeinateds need not reply. i'm looking for black and strong.
Red Label orange pekoe from Assam is my favorite. Most Indian import and spice stores carry it or a similar brand such as Lipton (British Lipton, not the US garbage) This is the granulated style (loose, but the bags are also good as bags go) which I much prefer to leaf and it also happens to be about 1/4 to 1/10 the cost of leaf. I also love Twinings Assam (again, the British stuff, not the tea they export to the US) which is also the granule type but a bit more expensive and hard to find. Andrew Tyndall got me hooked on this stuff years ago. For me nothing else compares.
thanks.
got my two huge boxes of your favorite. very nice! a little too strong for skinny, but i think it will do just fine for me. thanks.
Awsome..I mean Assam!
The Lipton is even stronger.
And the box explains the granulated texture of many teas from the Assam region.
...uses only the finest tea leaves, these leaves are specially cut to expose more of the juices and then they are curled into tiny beads...
kick assam baby
one cup was better the next day, two was TOO MUCH
If you are in a hurry and need to resort to a bag, I like Barry's Gold Blend. They have it in Myers of Keswick and now they have it in Angelica's on Avenue A.
