maybe this is old news to everyone else but new to me . . .
no-soak oven cooked beans! reminds me of the thrill of the no-knead bread from years past. made garbanzos tonight, tasted far better than canned or any I have made using the regular method.
thanks will try
Yeah, never heard of this, will try too.
me three
ok, lets try this but it made me remember I never soak beans....just cook em on the stove top......these beans I am using now dont take 2 hours on the stove top, lets see how they do in the oven.....my dad always made the beans in the oven (boston baked beans) but he soaked if memory serves me
at the 75 minute mark I decided to add more of the same color as the beans. sadly it looks like I didnt add enough water, followed instructions but it should have been more.
OK, its been 4 hours and they are done.....now add the sausage, to slow cook in the mix
finally
Verdict? Sure looks good.
beans came out great, took a while, dish was YUM
What kind of sausage and where did you get it?
new seasons spicy italian
skimmed fat, ground one sausage + (LEFTOVERS) added grilled Olympic Provisions kielbasa, shezuan green beans from Franks Noodle House, broccoli, zucchini, and onion....POW!!
Ok lets try this again....
chopped finer than normal for me, but i want this to melt in and add sweetness as another earthy items comes next
not cooked at 2 hours but looking good and close
done at 3 hours prob done at 2.5, dont looks so good color wise
time to cook the added earth componant
whats that a little butter....ok its the holidays
5 hours later the liquid from beans and chanterelles was reduced to gravy
The parsnip ruined the above dish for me.....
LENTILS....did the oven method for the lentils (French puy varietal out of Idaho) with garlic, onion, shallot....AMAZING, needed LOTS of water.....give it 3 inches over top 425 degree's check it at 1/2 than an hour for water, done soon after....YUM
Take 4......Black Garbanzo, Smoked Turkey Thigh, Onion/Garlic, lots of water......lets see
as they entered....minus water (lots)
my phone photo quality has pooped out....after 2 hours looks like this , served over baked cabbage, good, beans little tough.....back in for an hour with rest of cabbage and brussel sprouts
