"During the Great GoogaMooga, Pat LaFrieda and his team will roast a whole brined and rubbed steer. They're going to slow cook it at 200 degrees for 30 hours, then slice it up for attendees of the fest."

Yikes…
Received this email: A heads-up on anyone planning to bird Prospect Park this weekend; due to a huge music and food festival in the Nethermead (40,000 people per day) a large area which includes the entire Nethermead, the Boathouse area including the Binnen Bridge, the Binnen Water, the Lullwater Bridge, the viewing platforms around the Binnen pools, the Pagoda, and the muddy horse trail behind this area (which has been great for warblers lately) are all inaccessible. In fact the fences are already up.
The festival starts at 11 am and the music at 11:30 so if you are birding
the Midwood that might be your cut-off point for that area as well...

Sounds fun, but a crowd of 40,000 is bit much for me. Free passes are long gone anyway, but you can still buy a $250.00 extra mooga ticket, and pig out to Hall & Oates… yikes.

Sounds like it didn't work out too well.

Full refunds for the $250.00 tickets. Sounds like a total debacle, but with money to be made they will try again...
