LA's oldest surviving restaurants
Fun read, my mom would have loved some of these places!
I have fond recollections of riding nola streetcars (1950's) with my mom from the burbs into town and going to a drugstore lunch counter and having grilled cheese and chips. i remember standing next to a fixed stool and looking up under the counter at the multitude of colorful gum stuck to the underside. still love a woolworths grilled cheese. would get them at chock full of nuts on 57'th st nyc in the 80's for lunch.
