Letter From Dad
Steve, After I made my proposal to the Portland School Board regarding irradiated meat in the school lunch program, they asked the Physicians for Social Responsibility for their opinion and this is a draft of what they will send to Oregon School Districts. I feel tremendously validated as they added the probable social effects to the scientific background that I had told them of. The sigma represent bullets in the original doc.

being good and bad waiting for the results of test two....
good: eating lots of fruit fiber and little dessert
bad: no exersize, few richer meals
360: AWESOME meal, a chicken and pasta dish was off the charts, classic and simple, fresh fisher island oysters, twisted good.....
Cambodian Cuisine: i like this stuff, tasty and spicey and cheap
lots to come this week, praying to the cholesteral goddess
Mmmmmm Clones.
i have been not so good lately after by pit bull attack, leg is healing, the antibiotics flushed my system but I have been eating more and not riding my bike, yummy meal at tasting room followed by snacks at shillers (after many wines at wd~50).....bao noodles nite was delish again....finally went to Grand Sichuan East (uptown) VERY HOT but taste-E and different, worth the trek but my heart stays with 51st......had the best lunch this year at Wash Park, roasted Capon!!!
Blue Fin has to be the best eatin in Time Square, fried Nantuket Scallops!!, hey steve EAT UP brother, dont miss em.

Home Home on the Grange
Stop #1: inoteca, cant believe how tasty the egg truffle toast on asparagus is for $7, i picked a rose of niederra, scary good with a'gus
Stop #2: wd~50, went for a beer, these folks are wine cool, but my body said beer, new rabbit app yahoo, new soup (in this issue of NY Mag) yahoo, two new "taste's" get yahoo delux. one was a rouget, green (gran-e?) apple, lentil, apple foam? with nori, and soy caramel, what was amazing to me was this light vaporish heat that the combo gave off (cool and cooled by the stout beer), it was from the fish which is cayanne?? treated (i have been to cayanne!!, i need to get back to the amazon), great snack (meal) topped off with a coco choc de safron:>)
Stop #3: Wash Park, couple of fun wines (inc an awesome 90 Sangiovese, a suprise), a customer showed up, we shared the salmon caviar pepper pancake app, very fine dish.
Last Stop: Sample in Brooklyn, I wanted to laugh out (yes i'm drunk), and for no?? good reason, this famous wine guy does the wine list yet the bartender doesnt know the wines, i get a Greek red and white in tumblers, order two app's and both come from cans, they were K-Rations for the gourmet set but comedy to me, after hard core delish food art at wd and simplistic bliss at inoteca what can i say but time for bed
good nite
once a week i have been eating where ever i want but with some reserved approach, one week 360 was fantastic, last week was Rose Water which can be very good and both places are fantastic folks, this saturday i will do the two new dishes at wd~50 (6;00 at the bar if anyone is free, followed by an app at Wash Park and one other place, 4 app's at 3 spots)....
Diet is going, I believe I have lost 5 pounds, I feel no healthier, but I hope my cholesterol is down......I have been going out a bit more than I should, but no desserts, not butter, etc....friend was in town last night so we did El Cid, tasty, lots of protein for Linda......
had not been to Green Market in a while, the great grape team was there, its one of the season's treats to eat a 1/2 dozen types of just harvested grapes, yahoo to fall......
zen palate ok
goga cafe much more fun
thomas keller interviewed in nyo
broke down from my dinner of apple juice with ginger to eat a small plate of linda's chicken curry and rice, both from the curry source shop was tasty and not that unhealty, still I dreamt of bacon, crunchy slices smokie and juicy (i blame it on the ginger and spice).....
Diet:
Breakfast is one juiced grapefruit added to 2 liters of water.
Lunch is Irish Oats slow cooked, adding 2 oz of yogurt, 1/2 banana, few raisons and some fiber (omega 3/6/9 tablets and also a tab of folic acid)
Dinner is beans, grain, tofu, rice, greens, hummus, etc (good old hippie food)
Exersize: I get burned out kwik so I am easing in, riding bike (stationary)15 minutes in the morning and 10 min's at nite....6.5 miles.....hope to get to 30 morning and 15 nite (12 miles)....
Detox: I didnt think that it would be this hard, cranky yes but not the deep cold inside from lacking the fuel of pig fat and the gigantic waves of acid, reservoirs built strong for the 4000+ calorie daily desolve routine........
The Diet Begin's......
