New Orleans food is as good as thier music.....
#1 Uglesich's with thier shrimp and grits, crawfish balls, fried green tomatoe's, grilled catfish, bacon wrapped shimp served with sweet potatoe, firecracker shrimp, fried oysters,
we did 10 app's and no main's as the owner agreed that was the best way to taste...
#2 Frankie & Johnny's (see below)
#3 Mother's: Po-Boys, Etouffee's
Went to Peristyle which had some good dishes and a super chicken dish and Herbsaint which also had some super dishes (gnocchi app, short rib app) but the other dishes were just ok but we tried only a small part of the menu.....
Want to try next time: Irene's Cuisine (rumored to have soft shell crabs served over crawfish linguine:>), Jacques-Imo (place looks cool, next to maple Leaf Bar and I hear the food is better than ever), Pascal's Manale (local's fav), Dooky Chase (Creole super star some say), and oh so many more.....

a major foodie's pick for best meal in Spain
not bad gulosh and snitzal (sp?) in brooklyn for brunch, Thomas Beisl, but no dessert:<(.....dinner at Hangawi first time in a long while, and i guess this was the 4th time, well this blew all 7 of us away, the dishes seemed more high toned, very clear and more careful, still BYOB @ $10 a bottle...FANTASTIC
Hangawi 3*
Kai 2: Had the Omakase menu, chefs seasonal.....there were some strong high's and no lows, in ways it was better than the Iron Goddess menu and some ways equal....rare raw fish from southern Japan, amazing raw shrimps apeared twice, mushroom and winter eel were througout the meal, the desserts, starter, tofu were amazing again, noodles were the best I have ever had, steak again divine.....wine list has many more choises and we found a couple but lucky for my wallet, as I had bizz 5 guests, they let me bring 6 bottles....place was packed....going back in summer when fish is abound in Japan....
our fat cat now loves, dried italian egg pasta cracked up in bite size pieces, but he doesnt like cooked egg
funny. wyliewatch at ls.com. youd think the tree would be well positioned to have insights into this burning question but i dont even think wylie would venture a guess at this point.
were all invited to the opening though, right? (cue the crickets)
from Jake """A new discovery.Itzocan Cafe, I’ve been there twice now and it has been consistently great Mexican food, a rarity in the city. It’s BYO and cheep! 9th st. btw. 1st and A."""
Spain 2003: We did a quick 7 day hard blast across North Spain, the Eastern coastal seafood is not happy (and neither am I) but we did pluck some oysters out of an area that has strong rivers flowing into the bay so oil has come nowhere near them, scary fresh stuff.......We dined mostly at local spots, places that specialized in one type of food, we BYOB'd alot and drank well (mostly old Rioja back to 1947).....2001 will be monumental for Spain overall in wine....

(THE WHOLE GROUP AGREED WITH THE SCORES)
can we get rid of pumpky?
just had lunch at that place on the corner of ludlow and rivington which has new owners and has been renovated and renamed paul's boutique. i guess the menu is the same but i hate the renovation. it had a mellow understated corner brasserie feel and now theyve given it a modish decor with green pillows and some bench seating along the walls which are too low for the tables. should have subscribed to the rule "if it aint broke, dont fix it."
$25 and under: szechuan queens
Still love Cambodian Cuisine in Brooklyn and Holy Basil....
