Still on the trail of an elusive bug. I know this happens occasionally, but try as I might, I cannot reproduce the event under laboratory conditions. Seems like very occasionaly when deleting a post, instead of actually being deleted the post will show up a bit further back (like if you scroll back using 'older posts...' it might show up on the next page back.) This has happened to me once (I think) and to jim louis. If anybody notices anything like this please try to contact me before you do anything to fix it. I need to see an example "in the wild" to help figure out what the hell is happening. Feel free to call me on my cell if this happens. I really need to find an example of this behavior (6465263857.) Thanks.
OK--I just deleted the post of the John Doe No.2 pic (the police sketch artist's clumsily-outlined highlight on the gimme cap is flipped in Photoshop so it resembles a Mercury's wing--artist humor) from my page and moved it to the treehouse. After I did it, an old post I deleted--No. 6179, which says "Test"--popped up in my weblog archive--and also appears a couple of pages back. That isn't the first time it's happened.
OK, I see this. I'm closing in on something. More cases appreciated. (If you delete 6179 again it should stay deleted.)
I might have found it. More testing to be done. But I found one problem at least (and fixed it.)
oooohhhh, jd two.

Thanks. BTW, the original of the altered John Doe 2 is on Salon's front page today.
