You're probably right. I think it needs to be clear that the person is not signed in so that someone can't impersonate a real user. And I'd like it to be clear to people who aren't familiar with the system (so just having the name be a different color or font isn't really enough.) How else can we do it to avoid the probable confusion you point out?
