What do you mean by "it doesn't exactly recognize my cookie"?
Does that mean the front page doesn't say "Hello Steve"? (And you don't see [new posts] [new comments]?)
If you can see /core then you are signed in and things are working correctly.
I believe you that something is wrong, but since I don't see it you have to be very specific about what is happening.
Sorry for the problems.
OK, I don't know what it is or isn't recognizing. It seems as if I am logged out when I first arrive at the home page. No greeting, my preferred pages aren't showing up according to the way I have them configured (core, suggestions and I think Tom and Jeff) the counters are all zeroed, the "click here to view the most recently updated pages" option is available, and yet I do have access to all the pages through the index. So it must be recognizing me. It's not a problem, just letting you know of what seems to be a very minor glitch.
