Farewell DRM?
Right. They are going to start selling non-DRM'd MP3 tracks. Right.
Maybe at 64 kbps. Of course no one will want these. And then they'll complain that they "tried" to sell regular MP3s and no one wanted them.
I predict that 20 years from now we'll still be having these debates. The industry will have shrunk to 1/100th of it's present size. Everyone will be connected to dark nets and be able to get everything they want for free. And the industry will still be desperately trying to come up with some scheme that can "work". And really, what else can they do? They're doomed, but they can sure milk it all the way down. Wouldn't you?
