OMAP 5 - TI's 4 core processor for tablets
That's a lot of processor. It must be frustrating to be on a tablet team about to release some Cortex A8 product to market when you know something like this is coming. I guess that's just how it is though.
And while I know we will always need more power, it's hard for me to see exactly why we'll need more than what this chip provides. "My phone's protein folding screen saver just cured cancer!"
3D video games. Etc.
Oh, right.
The tablet form-factor is ideal for no-glasses 3D.
