This has the visual equivalent of engine knock. My informal registration method didn't work so good. I can fix it, I think. Query--when you scale up a 165 X 158 gif to 495 X 374 in the browser, does that turn it from a 60 KB file to a 180 KB file, RAM-eating wise? Jim seemed to think it did.
Ha, I fixed the "knock." Now I kind of miss it, and of course I overwrote the file. Oh, well, if wanted to get it back again I could spend another halfhour in Paintbrush moving the pixel mass around. The jerkiness made it look more DIY and inept, but as it stands now--as I originally intended it--it reads like a high speed map graphic charting changing demographics or whatever, when all I was really doing was channeling the painterly moves of Hans Hoffman and Philip Guston during the latter's abstract impressionist period.
