Can you believe it--our House Majority Leader for all these years has just been indicted! The former Houston bug exterminator Tom Delay, angered by the "gummint red tape" that hampered his business, rose to unbelievable heights of power in Washington as a Congressman. It has always amazed me how deferential the moneyed elite has been to this sick cracker. It's McCarthyism all over again--a bully everyone fears (the other is Bush). Here's hoping the slush-funds and redistricting scams Delay instigated will all come to light and the Thousand Year Republican Reich he, Norquist, Abramoff, and Bush were building will all start to come apart. Criminal scum--I mean, alleged criminal scum.
that news is soooo 12:36pm est. that he's stepped down (temporarily, forever) as majority leader is, at least, almost fresh news. cmon tom, youre slipping.
This page isn't about being fresh, it's about saying YES YES YES YES YES! (since deleted--I had my moment.)
Still trying to process something I saw in a movie theatre ad yesterday. Some new TV show, the guy who plays Doogie Howser says, I forget about what, "This is totally going on my blog!" As if to say, it's over, it's stupid--but a lot of people still don't know what blogs are.
i think its just tv shorthand for "im a computer-type geek." plus if you mention blogs, then bloggers will talk about it. you get some residual viral marketing. also, its hipster-speak. so if you know what theyre talking about youre cool, if not, youre a loosah.
I hope you're right. I had the distinct sense the writers were trying to push back by making it a bad stereotype. But I didn't watch enough to know if Doogie was a computer geek or just a geek geek.
Doogie kept a diary on his computer, and typed his monologues into it, and his "moral" to each episode at the conclusion, a la Carrie Bradshaw ... um ... or so I've been told.
Neil Patrick Harris, you neophytes.
Service with a sneer, thanks. He (Doogie) was great in Starship Troopers.
I was also good in Rent.
another yesman.
