"Dance of the Nematodes/Calypsum (John Parker Mix)" [mp3 removed]. John Parker remix of a couple of my Mac SE tune(s). Work in process--Parker says this will change. Some interesting textures and a nice backwards bit I've been humming. Meme for the day: visual artists invade the province of musicians using new tech; work is not a substitute or facsimile but employs different skill sets in addition to the existing ones. It is nonetheless music--personally I'd rather listen to it than what's already known.

MetaSynth is a cool program in which you paint and draw in your waveforms & filters, or process image files into sounds, I have an old Mac OS 9 version and hear the OSX version is really great. I like to do stuff like record an old dumb Yamaha drum machine in an audio recording program, take a screen snapshot of that resulting waveform, open that up in an image editing program, make all the "white" around the "drumbeat" into the alpha channel, save as PNG, take it into MetaSynth, and start tweaking the image into audio ... I like the rhythmic and tonal qualities this process produces.
Nice music too! I can hear the nematodes in there.
